Keeping the pizza warm makes it irresistible and keeps you popular among guests, or you’ll hear from someone after a few days of the party that you served cold pizza. And trust me; you don’t need this.

So, let’s look at a few tips on keeping your pizza warm.

Use Aluminum Foil

Whenever any food item is hot, they release moisture; a similar happens with pizza. So as soon as you get your pizza, you should pack it in aluminum foil tightly to keep all the moisture inside the foil and hence keep all the deliciousness packed.

In the foil, your pizza can stay warm and fresh for up to 3 hours because of insulation (but there shouldn’t be any leaks in the foil wrapping). For heating your pizza in foil, here is what you can do:

  • Cut slices of your pizza and wrap each piece individually in foil. Or you can also wrap half pizza at a time in foil and then seal it from all sides properly.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 F, then place your pizza on the pan.
  • Place it in the oven, then turn off the flame. Leave it in the oven until you have to serve it, and the pizza will be as fresh as ever.
  • For piping hot, turn on the oven for 5-10 minutes before serving the pizza.

Use an Insulated Bag

Insulated bags are the perfect creation of mankind to keep the pizza warm (not hot) for up to 3 hours. It has insulated material with foam to keep the pizza at an ideal serving temperature.

These bags are specifically for pizzas and are suitable if you have an outdoor party and want to keep the pizza warm for longer.

You can quickly put the pizza in an insulated bag when it is still in the cardboard box so that the double layer (one layer of the box and one of the insulated bag) can lock in the heat and moisture to keep the pizza’s taste fresh and yummy-licious!

Oven on a Low-Temp

If you are throwing a party or have 2-3 people over in an indoor setting, then the best way is to heat/ keep your pizza warm in the oven. There are two ways to keep the pizza warm:

  1. You can either preheat your oven, put the whole box in it, and turn off the heat to keep it warm.
  2. Or, you can do the foil method that we discussed above.

5-10 minutes before serving, you can turn on your oven and heat the pizza to bring it back to life and make it piping hot.

Apart from this, a toaster oven is also an option for your convenience because the oven can heat up your pizza faster than other methods.

Baking Sheet

With baking sheets, you will keep your pizza warm in the oven. You can simply take the pizza from the box and place it on the baking sheet.

Spray some water on the pizza to keep it moist since it will be open from all sides, and its moisture can evaporate. Preheat your oven

Then place your pizza in the oven. Now it’s up to you; if you want to heat your pizza quickly, you can keep the oven’s flame low, and your pizza will be piping hot in around 15 minutes.

You can also turn off the heat, keep the pizza in the oven, and let it sit for 20-25 minutes, and it will become as warm and delicious as freshly baked.

Portable Ovens

Portable ovens are ideal for keeping your food warm if you are outdoors. They specifically to keep food fresh and ready to eat. So, if you have a portable oven, then you can easily heat your pizza wherever and whenever you want.

The oven looks like a large lunchbox; the longer you keep the slices in it, the better it will be heated.  For instructions, you can refer to the portable oven’s manual because it varies from oven to oven.

What temperature do you put the oven on to keep the pizza warm?

If you put your pizza on too high or too low a flame, you can ruin it for good. Extremely low heat can make it dry and hard.

But extremely high heat can burn it to ashes. So then, what is the ideal temperature for the pizza when heating in the oven?

Can you put a pizza box in the oven at 250?

If you are putting the pizza in the oven at 250, the cardboard box can catch fire, turning into a bloody bath of pizza everywhere and burnt bits of cardboard.

Even if you have to put pizza at 250 degrees, you should first preheat the oven and then turn the heat off before putting the box in.

Another option is to remove the box altogether and put the pizza on the baking sheet or aluminum and place it in the oven for better results. This way, you won’t even have to turn off the oven as nothing will catch fire.

However, you can never be too careful. So, it’s better to turn off the heat before putting it in the box or remove the box and then put the pizza without it in the oven.
